Parking lots still closed but decent amount of parking on street. I started around 11am so it was 90-95 degrees for the majority of the hike. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. the canyon is protected from the ocean breezes so generally warmer then the beach campground near the trailhead.this was a great hike. Sycamore Canyon & Thornhill Broome campground gates open at 8am and close at 10pm. Two great instructor/guides Cale and Aaron who led us up the fire road onto an amazing single track trail. We had not visited the store prior to booking and did everything on-line and on the phone. note: If you want to add an extra mile or so, stay on the outlook trail to big sycamore and don't take the scenic trail. but trails are well maintained and it's absolutely beautiful, especially right now with all the flowers in bloom. Watch out for snakes & coyotes.

I don’t recommend this trail so much for hikers or runners, it is primarily mountain bikers, and there are a lot of them.

Nice trail n got a nice workoutI highly recommend starting early as there is no shade. I used to walk the trails from the top of Greenleaf in uptown Whittier, but my favorite Trail was destroyed by people cutting through the switchbacks and causing erosion.
