Service slow too.Went here as place was well recommended. Pluses: very tasty and original- real fooding , good wine, service We chose the table underground, though we understood why it was available--right next to the miniscule kitchen, there is no ventilation and your hair ends up smelling like greasy smoke the next day. (I wouldn't sit here in the summer, though. The Gin Gin Mule is amazing. The service is pretty good.
We also had the octopus and sweetbreads for our entree. We ordered 5 tapas--the cabbage was bland and wet, the Shishito peppers salty and oily, the tempura inedible (we sent it back), and the duck hearts were truly nausea-inducing. Cocktails were quite different but we both enjoyed what we had. Minuses: we are not very comfortably installed, and it small and very very nosy....We selected this place for cocktails & oysters and perhaps staying for dinner, based on a recommendation in a cool Paris guide. Their internet site makes you believe it's one of the best cocktail places in the world and their Rain Dog cocktail would be...- It's a small restaurant and pretty tight with small tables. Very strong and will get you tipsy without even trying. Out of this world. I cannot speak bad about anything there but I would not go to eat again.Amazing cool cocktail bar with great drinks and small plates. This place is tiny, so I would recommend reserving.Very good spot with unique small plates and great cocktails. The portions also make it pretty expensive I would say. But we were hungry, and though we were in the basement we weren't forgotten, since the waiters were constantly popping by the kitchen. I managed to translate my cocktail: Allegory of Peace. The gang from Candeleria and Glass did it again with a new hip bar, Le Mary Céleste, a small marvel right in the middle of the trendy Marais, near rue de Bretagne, filled with cute arty gals.. Were greeted warmly, and seated promptly. The red pepper with hummus was fresh and delicious. We took a couple of the salads and the sardines....This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of "We came for the cocktails and a light meal, exactly what we got! GET THE DIGITAL ISSUE. - Besides the oysters we ordered another...Won't go back, quality/price does not worth it what you receive and you might leave hungry. Loved it all from start to finish, delicious food and attentive service. Very creative cocktail menu although the one I really wanted wasn’t available (out of passion fruit). Everything we tried on the tapas menu was full of flavour & really clever in the concept.Very nice spot. The bar fills quickly, but the wait staff made it happen for us (twice) and got us a table at the bar one day and a shared table for us downstairs the next night when out other dinner plans fell through.Lovely staff and wonderful cocktails. The chardonnay I like better here in France not sweet like California wine.
