My husband and I gave up after the path became too confusing. If you continue straight on the trail just after passing the creek you'll be heading toward To get to the top of the mountain (crossing the creek instead of following it upstream), add another 2 hour Parking at the trailhead, which is located at the end of in a congested neighborhood, is limited and strict.
There were no signs at all that said 7 Falls other than what someone had written in pen on one of the fire hazard signs.
Please leave the wildlife be and enjoy the views!Fun hike but since the actual trail doesn't actually start until after a decent trek up the hill our 12/9 yr olds were getting tired after we made it a mile and a half down the trail. The 2.2-mile hike to Tangerine Falls has everything a hiker could want — an exceptional waterfall, plenty of shade, a soothing creek, ocean views, a bit of off-trail rock hopping, and scrambling. Not easy but fun and rewarding. The trail narrows from service roads to singletrack as it rises.
I wasn't about to keep hiking to keep turning around because we went the wrong way.
They got us set up, and away we went! The Inspiration Point hike will take about 1.5 hours and has an elevation gain of 800ft. "The guys here were awesome!!! San Antonio Creek Trail – Santa Barbara, California August 8, 2015 December 31, 2019 San Antonio Creek Trail, located in Tucker’s Grove Park, and as the name suggests, follows the creek of the same name for about 1.75 miles … We probably did this 3 times total and I wasn't sure if the falls were dried out or not, so i decided it wasn't worth it. "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." The area is home to roaring waterfalls, towering cliffs, and winding trails, all just waiting to be explored. I'm writing this because not all wildlife is respected, as recently a beheaded mountain kingsnake was discovered here, one of the most elusive animals in SB county, likely killed by a human. Over the 8.4-mile round trip, you’ll discover excellent views of the lake and the valley, while gaining 2,300 feet in elevation.
You’ll follow Hot Springs Creek until you hit the spur that will take you to the creek’s source. Home to some elusive animals.
Start your hike at the Cold Springs Trail in Montecito, Calif., about six miles northeast of downtown Santa Barbara. You’ll eventually make your way up to the exposed ridge, where the hard climbing begins. You can’t go wrong at any place named Inspiration Point.
Would like to come back with my Keen shoes when there are pools of water.
Lots of interesting plants/flowers along the way, spectacular views, and we even saw a rabbit (the only wildlife, other than birds we came across). The 2,458-foot Gaviota Peak is an excellent challenge for those who want a more serious hike. Beautiful hikes boasting stunning views are readily available for anyone looking to get in touch with their adventurous side.
Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, Santa Barbara with kids: "Our little boys (3,5) trekked all over this botanical garden with us because there was always a new path to explore, a corner to turn or a tree to gaze up at in amazement.
Take the trail from the parking lot and when the trail splits, take the left fork. Don't waste…"Lovely place to view wildlife. Live like a Santa Barbara local whenever, wherever
We didn't expect much but this tour definitely…" ""I moved to Ojai a month ago. Please also respect the aquatic two stripes garter snakes that often hang out in the pools. The 6.5-mile loop trail starts just west of Santa Barbara in Goleta, Calif., in the Gaviota State Park, about a half hour’s drive from downtown Santa Barbara. On behalf of the wildlife I ask that when swimming wear non toxic sunscreen and watch out for breeding newts.
I thank God that I am still able to share these activities and memories with my family.I wish there were more hikes around like this one! Don't take it literally and fall 7 times like I did. We opted to take the trail to inspiration point, versus the waterfalls, as we were told by other hikers, the waterfalls and pools were kinda weak in terms of flow.
I wish there was more water flowing. We went on a weekday, so it wasn't crowded, however, I could see this crowded trail becoming annoying on a busy weekend. Whichever way you decide to get there, you’ll enjoy hiking through the oaks and sycamores at lower elevations, and the views at the top are, well, inspirational.
The trailhead is located at the edge of Lake Cachuma, about a half hour’s drive northwest of downtown on the north side of the Santa Ynez Mountains. I don't really write reviews but that is definitely changing now since my experience in Ojai has so far been GREAT! Santa Barbara is a beautiful destination tucked between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
