the warp stones wich come from that giant gate that is at the northpole wich is ruined. I'd like to hear all of your two cents on the matter. in the unknown universe they may have devoured every other life bearing galaxy and this is the last, or they could even be on the run from something unimaginably more powerful and dangerous.

after the calamity (whatever it was, i've never found out), the chaos gods could gain access to the world but in a limited manner because as i understand (or understood) it the gate still exists, so maybe it still provides a fraction of defence - which allows people to still use magic without the chance of possession, and could also be why the peoples of the world don't know of, or fear the gods in the same way as the rest of the galaxy - the north pole gate has greatly protected them/the world due to the technological mastery of the old ones (or their predecessors). and all of them except for slaaneshi was "born" around the 2 millennia. All you have to do is read the backstory of 40K to know that they are not in the same universe.

So all there was to do in the Eldar empire for the most part was to find ways to stave off boredom. It may also be possible that the Elves are Proto-Eldar created by the Old Ones. I've always assumed that Fantasy was the history edition of 40k? 40k has few notable places that feature continually in the fluff (this is due to 40k's vastly larger scope).
