On a sunny day, I recommend doing your tasting in the tasting room, getting a glass of whatever is your favorite, and taking a walk outside. This was our first stop, picked at random. In 1985, the original winery gave way to a modern winemaking facility -- and, since that time, the Estate's Bennett Valley vineyards have grown to include over 280-acres of Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah. The landscaping is amazing, and the number of different outside areas that you can sit in and enjoy wine is wonderful. The lavender was in full bloom, ready to be picked in two weeks. All of the winery’s fruit comes from sustainably-farmed, estate vineyards scattered throughout the mild interior and cool coastal AVAs of the county.
