Menu Menu; Yu Hsiang Garden is now is open for business! The giant soup dumpling is under whelming, its not that big and its more like a dumpling shell filled with soup and not much substance. Yu Garden is a soup-dumpling-lover’s paradise in Richmond Hill. The regular steamed dumplings were also decent....Went for dinner with my parents..looks very clean and there were a few people eating...we ordered the fatty pork soup noodles ...was $16.99!!!
So glad I did not listen to these self proclaimed food critics!Sometime between late 2018 to mid 2019, the level of service here has been degraded to a point of don't come unless you have half a day to spare for lunch. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. There you go .... 3 stars. We've been here previously and didn't think much about it since our little guy didn't like the food. I'm not really sure why all the negativity surrounding this place - it's very comparable to any other buffet like Mandarin or all those mediocre AYCE spots in Markham, Richmond Hill…""The only thing I miss about my time living in NYC is the pizza. So other...I had good experience in this restaurant in the past year,so I decided to go there with friends again.
I took two stars off because of the poor customer service. Dishes were relevant small compare to other restaurant. The server told us that is not working and she doesnt know the password. So many more things to try! I would have prefered them telling its not open for public.

Good thing we came and was certainly pleased! Had to ask for tea and the main lady server/hostess was extremely rude. Not impressed with this restaurant one bit. Hailing straight from Shanghai, Yu Garden is the first North American outpost from Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant, a famous eatery located in the old Chinese district of Shanghai.
The food itself was OK but nothing 'to write home' about. The Shanghai noodle was good with some veggies in it. The most unique soup dumplings you can get. Much of the food was only luke warm, but otherwise fairly good. This dim sum restaurant is part of a massive chain known as Nan Xiang that was founded in Shanghai in 1900.
The restaurant is very clean and inviting. Hmm... such a lie. The printed menu is quite extensive, with photos of virtually every item, making it hard...Honestly, other than the dumpling dishes, the food was not good at all. First we tried xiao long bao, but they were not fresh at all. You can even try the mega dumplings! Given the massive asian population here, the asian food must be good so we tried Yu Garden. The service was also good."wow. Anyway, we ordered food -dim sum which is not the typical siu mai or xiao long pao. Came here for dinner on a week night. Definitely come back. Their glutinous rice dim sum was also tasty. We ordered 2 platters of xlb, the beef rolls with spring onion, green beans, pan fried buns, Shanghai noodles, and vegetable buns. The cold White wine chicken was extremely salty! Thank you for everyone’s patience throughout this difficult time. The smoked fish not crisp, but tender which had a very good aftertaste. Staff was friendly.
