Perhaps because of the days-long catastrophic flooding that occurred this past spring, our cabin (built up from the ground on 4 supports) was infested with termites and it swayed and creaked when we walked across the floor.

Armstrong Woods is a major draw. This Russian River Hotel is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, dancing and live entertainment. The room was immaculate and cozy and well appointed with coffee makings and fridge. I was sorry to check out the next day!

I enjoyed the place and intended to come back. The Woods Resort, Russian River Hotel, offers cottages, free-standing guest cabins and multi-room suites with full kitchens, gas fireplaces, private balconies and stunning views of lush redwood forests. Not only is woods resort more affordable, but there's air conditioning, Wi-Fi, parking, and the rooms are perfect! Decent experience, but will most likely try R3 or one of the other resorts next time. The Woods was lovely and very quiet, and of course very centrally located. But, for $230 - how about better coffee, a heated pool and more attention to detail with the rooms. Definitely needs more structural support and the cabin and surrounding area should be completely treated and exterminated. :) (not to mention the gentleman who helped us at the front desk had some killer chops! There was coffee & treats out every morning, lots of lovely plants and planters, and everything in our room was brand new. The place we were at was booked so we started looking elsewhere.
