Ultimately, it's Gioia's openness to all poets and types of poetry that make this collection a stand out:I loved, A Personal Sonnet by Dick Davis, originally in The Hudson Review. most of the editons of this publication (and I think I've read them all) strike me as slanted towards the editor's favourite publications; no matter, each edition is unique and interesting; I especially enjoyed the one that Harold Bloom hated; I recommend also reading the four British best poetry issues But it's not particularly challenging, experimental, or for most part, daring. I'll probably read it a half dozen times before the next volume comes out. Highly recommended!
