I always ordered the shrimp pad thai and my boyfriend the salmon teriyaki with fried spinach on coconut rice. Not a large number of tables for a Newport restaurant so be prepared to wait. There was also a giant pile of cilantro but no green onions; my Asian brain was very confused. Own or manage this property? The seafood is always nicely prepared and accompanied by tenderly prepared vegetables. I had the coriander and cumin encrusted tuna which was cooked perfectly rare and was melt-in-your mouth delicious!
The whole thing is great.We always love the eclectic menu and food at the Salvation Cafe. The Salvation Cafe attracted you with its artful sign, and it draws you in with an eclectic atmosphere, stocked bar, and impressive menu. I wanted to enjoy myself but this night wass not the night. Ahoy. Many people point out that the staff is nice at this spot. With our own private room, upstairs in the new barn, we felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The SC is probably my favorite spot in Newport - its slightly off the beaten path, so the tourists and college students are not there in flocks. Ratings ... Breakfast & Brunch, Soup . He used the sauce in the pan (almost caramelized) to drizzle it on top of the salmon--it was a pile of oozy, delightful goodness. My boyfriend ordered the salmon (still $24) and got a piece of overdone, rubbery, and bland fish slapped over plain white rice. they expanded and they still have kept their decor and intrique. Salvation is offering Sunday brunch again.
My boyfriend and I used to go out of our way to come here when the old chef "Slim" was here --he was the one who developed all the recipes.

Salvation Short-Rib Burger Spicy aioli, baby arugula, sliced tomato, red onion, vt cheddar cheese, brioche roll, herbed truffle-parm frittes. The food was divine. I wanted to stay for the chocolate bananas purses but needed to leave once the meals were finished. Pay low prices for eating at this cafe.
