After resigning himself to judging vegetable contests at local fetes, Alan is overjoyed to learn that BBC Chief Commissioning Editor Tony Hayers has died and will be replaced by the more amenable Chris Feathers, who is much more keen on Alan. Steve Coogan is excellent in the lead role, but he is well supported by the others in the cast. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 8, 2014 I've nearly worn my bootlegs out! Its a joy to watch time and time again. I'm Alan Partridge, Series 2 [Region 2] The writing is excellent, all the characters well drawn (particuarly his agent Lynne), the situations credible in a bizarrely comic fashion.

There was an error retrieving your Wish Lists. I was a fan when this first appeared on TV and it was a joy to re-visit some of my favourite scenes from the series and stand out lines ("Smell my cheese!"). As a setting and opportunity for humour, it provides so many possibilities. But my DVD seems to be a bit of a faulty one.

I love Alan partridge and this series is hilarious because he isn't in his comfort zone of being successful. Stops playing towards the end of ep 2. I have to say that some of my favourite bits are on the bonus CD showing extras.

Inimitable and classic.

I'm never quite sure whether I should find this as funny as I do. I do like the menu at the start - may be confusing for anyone who hasn't watched AP before! My only complaint is that Series 2 still isn't available in the U.S.! Inimitable and classic. The jokes and one-liners are relentless : the best has to be Alan's description of Paul McCartney's Wings - "The band the Beatles might have been".After viewing product detail pages, look here to find an easy way to navigate back to pages you are interested in.After viewing product detail pages, look here to find an easy way to navigate back to pages you are interested in. This series of Alan Partridge is an absolute hoot. With Steve Coogan, Phil Cornwell, Barbara Durkin, Simon Greenall. If you haven't got this yet then acquire it quickly - you will not regret it! Alan Partridge's Scissored Isle [UK import, region 2 PAL Format]

Monkey tennis?

It is not a series full of "jokes". Alan is pure comedy gold and all of my family love it.Dvd was excellent price and fast postage from seller I suspect much is down to the fact that Coogan can make us empathise with the sad character of Alan, through both the writing and acting. While KMKY was purely Alan's talk show on the BBC, "I'm Alan Partridge" follows Alan in his daily life with a type of "fly on the wall" perspective. If you haven't got this yet then acquire it quickly - you will not regret it! The item arrived quickly and was well priced.

If people are looking for a stereotypical sit-com then they may end up disappointed. If people are looking for a stereotypical sit-com then they may end up disappointed.

Ben enjoys music, including the Beatles, Nirvana and Frank Sinatra. I was a fan when this first appeared on TV and it was a joy to re-visit some of my favourite scenes from the series and stand out lines ("Smell my cheese!"). See other DVD options under “Other Formats & Versions”.

I find it hard to believe that some people constantly complain about the death of British comedy, who make the breath-taking claim that only the Americans do good comedy these days. I am glad to finally see a legit release of this series here in America. Its the facial expressions of Partridge along with the excellent cast who support him. Alan is jealous and disdainful of Ben's romance with Sophie, and does his best to sabotage their romantic trysts. Scene or episode selection doesn't work. Its the facial expressions of Partridge along with the excellent cast who support him. They both made for classic sitcoms, but because of its genuine originality I'd have to say Partridge was the better invention. As a big fan of Alan's first foray 'Knowing Me, Knowing You' I was disappointed that this series abandoned the chat-show format; however, i only had to watch the very first episode to be convinced that Alan was at home as a sit-com.
